Thanks y'all. I got these at a new spot I ventured to. Only problem is that the spot is about a 3 mile hike through suburbia to get to.

Great shots, but looks like it might have been at an awkward angle for you.

When I was down there last I found a ton of jumping spiders in Tomball no further than 5 feet from the house I was at. They like 90 degree angles and wooden man made structures. The first place I looked were around the windows outside and some patio (wicker) furniture. We definitely need to go on a bug hunt next time I'm down there.

You might have seen some odder angles if the spider jumped on him! :)

I'm partial to the first one, its a great shot. Did you use a macro lens on it? I love the DOF on it.

Not sure how I missed these. Great series as always! I think my favorite is #3. They're just so cute!

Nice peek-a-boo shots, Garret. These little fellas can be camera shy at times. Like the last frame best.

Thanks, Ken. Next time I print a book, I'm going to put two of these in it.

Indeed, it was a less than best angle.

Sure, if your in my area I can show you where I hunt. Just bring some comfortable hiking type shoes/boots and a Camelbak.

There was a couple of times it jumped out of frame and the where the fark did it go reaction. Thanks for the liking of #1. I hate to say it but I'm getting more keepers using a tripod than hand holding... And I really do hate to say it.

I use a D7k+Kenko 12mm AF tube+Sigma 1.4x TC APO DG EX+Sigma 150mm 2.8 APO ex DG APO HSM+BW UV Filter with either a SB-600 with mini softbox or a set of 3M tape diffused SB-R200s.

Thanks! I like shooing jumpers, but my ol' lady doesn't think they're very cute. Heaven forbid one gets near her. Gotta have a defibulator if one gets on here.

I agree with your hating the tripod, but I'm starting to come around. With the type if photography I like,a tripod is mandatory.

Well, I usually get around it. But Jim gave a great heads up on wrapping the upper legs with foam so they don't dig into the shoulders. I'll be heading out tomorrow morning with my newly foamed legs.

There are a few folks that sell those tripod leg pads, but I've always just used foam pipe insulation and duct tape from the hardware store and depending on how much use mine will last several years and then I'll replace it for about $2.00. I heard about it from John Shaw and if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me...
