Well not totally macro but since I loaned out my macro lens I'm having withdrawals. Here is one handheld using IS and about a 50% crop.

Ain't a thing wrong with that photo! That's a nice setup for critter's like this and works good on damsels and dragonflies too. Very nice work!

I like the photo. I copied a quote from another forum once (I forgot to copy the author's name, so sorry about that to the original poster) that had a pragmatic definition of macro that I quite like:

Quote:
The pragmatic one says a macro image should show more detail when viewed as a print or screen image than you can see with the naked eye of the nearby object.
So by that definition, your image is definitely a macro image. The combination of a 300f4 and a TC can be a powerful and useful macro combination.
