Critique: CC:

I was walking out of a store at Camp Casey when I say this lil flash of pink. The sun was on this other side of this lil critter casting a nice pinkish hue. I happened to have my camera with me and got a couple of shots. Hand held of course; one of these days i'm gonna learn and use a tripod.lol Oh, also with the light on the other side of the lil guy it's body looked like a strawberry; will post that one later. I'm being lazy today. : )

You nailed the focus on this one, James.

FWIW, I think you're better off handholding if you can do what you've done here more or less consistently. Not trying to start a war here but tripods can be a hindrance at times. I shoot with one currently only because of the sheer size of my rig, preferring to handhold the macro setup for more flexibility.

Good catch, James.

I too do mostly hand held macro shooting (for the flexibility), but I will use a tripod or monopod if the situation needs it.

Nice James. I think I saw it's cousin flying around yesterday, but couldn't get a shot. I too handhold 90% of my macro shots even though my homemade lighting rigs can be quite awkward.
