Shot this lil guy a few days ago out behind our base here at Camp Stanley, South Korea. Went back a couple of days later and it was much bigger; will post those pics later. Gonna go back after duty today to check on him.
I was experimenting with using my on camera flash and smaller AP settings. It was a cloudy and windy day when I shot this and figured I could use all the help I could get and should figure this thing out anyway.LOL
PS: These were shot in RAW NEF format, processed and converted with Nikon ViewNX2. Resized in CS2 Image Ready and a lil bit o Topaz DeNoise5 to pretty up the background just a smidge. Background looked okay already, just wanted an excuse to play with the trial version of Topaz. : )

I agree, nice details in the shot! He's super cute except for that bulbous orange thing on his head
Are you still using the flower setting on your camera or have you gotten a macro lens yet?

Got that money burning a hole.LOL I have a 55-300 VR DX lens but, was using the 18-55 VR DX kit lens on these shots. Shot at 55mm and ISO mostly at 800 and one shot at 1600 (this lil D5100 seems to handle high ISO; have shot at 3200 with no problem). Shutter speeds were from f/80-125 and ap was f10-16. Tried f22 without much sucess.
