Couple three dragons - 09-15-2011, 10:31 AM

Critique: CC:

Got frustrated trying to shoot green darners so went after easier game. :D

#1 Swift setwing

#2 A species that I haven't seen yet this year, variegated meadowhawk, a female that would only perch on the ground. Not the best shot but it was offered.

#3 Roseate skimmer male, not the nicest POV but one of the best for showing wing detail in both wings

Very nice! What f-stop were you using? Every time I try to shoot these. I have issues getting the wings in focus from tip-to-tip.

Sean, I shoot between wide open(on this Bigma that's f6.3 at the long end) and f9, f10. Getting things in focus depends, in large part, on the angles at which you take your shots.

If I send ya the money would ya mail a couple of those blue ones over here to me in South Korea. Been dying to get a shot of one but have only seen them twice in three months and only when they are flying away. : ) Great shots as always. : )

Think that would get me in trouble with the folks here on campus, James.
