Is that pollen hanging off of the antenna?
That's gotta be the meanest looking bee I have seen.
edit
The DOF is kinda small, but considering the nature of macro, that's understandable. Considering that it would likely have been impossible to get it all in focus without stacking, the placement of the plane of focus looks good to me (pretty much optimal, actually).

What did you shoot that with? DOF isn't too bad considering.

Wow! Nice catch, especially sharp and tough to pull off. Rob has this same setup for sale, too bad I don't shoot Canon. (good for my wallet at least)

I like the DOF on this image - provides some depth. I also like the composition. Nice work, Mishele. | | | |

Frustrating little buggers!!! They don't stay still for very long!! lol | I figured. That's my favorite macro lens and it has it's own signature. I won't clog your post with an image but check this out- LINK
It took almost an hour to move in close enough to take it. No crop. Shot with the MP E 65mm and ring flash at around 4x

Thanks.
Really? Judging from your posts I was thinking that you just sat in one place for hours... all quiet and demure
About the only thing I can say about that lens is stop all the way down, ease the ISO up, and shoot the flash in manual. Based on your image... I think you already know that

As soon as I would find a bug they would turn their rear end towards me. =( Or fly away. It is rewarding when you do finally nail one. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
