Well, like the sign says anything Macro related. Picked up my Nikon R1C1 Flash Kit and Nikon 105mm 2.8 VR Micro today at the Nikon Store at Yongsan. Problem is they have a Nikon D700 with battery grip for 2.8 million Won ($2,400 US). I talked myself into it; gonna go back and get it along with the Nikon 24-70 2.8 tomorrow.LOL I didn't punish my debit card enough today I guess.he he Thats what happens when your replacement debit card doesn't come for three months and you cant spend money.LOL
I apologize for the pics, they were taken with my POS P&S cam.

It's a lonely life I have here at my age serving with kids less than half my age. As far as the hole burning, it's a fire that I dont want to go out. : )

That's a nice looking rig, James. I think you'll evenutally want to cobble together some diffusers of some sort for that R1C1. For starters, you might try out the closeup adapters that are part of the kit. They'll get the light a LOT closer to the axis of the lens. The D700 and 24-70 should be an excellent combination. If you decide to use the FX on that macro lens, just remember you'll lose some of the 'get close' of the 105...D700 being full-frame and all. Still should be an excellent portrait lens on the FX, however. Congrats on the new toys and let's see some shots.

The good light be with you. If not, use flash! Kenny

I ended up using the clear holder that you put the Nikon diffusers on, but I put three layers of Scotch 3M semi-clear tape on them. They've been perfect for most situations. I found those stock diffusers block too much light if you dont' have it perfectly aimed for the distance the insect is from the lens.
