Not sure what this little guy is. I picked up some very colorful flowers to practice with my alien bees and had an unexpected but welcomed hitchhiker. Macro using a Canon MP-E 65mm and Alien Bees make for a great combination

It's a weevil of some sort, Jennifer. Wonderful light in this excellent image. Aren't you the brave one taking on the MP-E? It's a fantastic lens, just takes a lotta work.

I absolutely love the lens - it is one of my favorites. I was a Tom Boy and loved collecting bugs and looking at them under a magnifying glass. The lens is frustrating at times....made the mistake of taking aphid shots with it in a breeze. I am really digging it indoors with a little studio setup. No wind and as much light as I want to throw at it.

Thanks for the recommendation on the ID, Ken. I'll send it over to BugGuide.net to confirm. Looks similar to an Acorn Weevil.
