Another Mantis - 12-05-2011, 06:11 AM

Critique: CC:

Got this one shortly before the weather started turning chilly. It wasn't in a good mood it seemed, so I just got a couple of shots and left it alone. If they are patient, thats cool. If they are trying to get away I dont like to stress them. Dont wanna get the Macro Photography Gods mad at me. : ( Enjoy. : )

Nice shot in #1. FYI, they usually appear irritated.

That's a good looking mantis, James. My problem with mantises is that, like some dragonflies, they seldom give you a perch over a nice background. You have to take what you can get.

How long before you return to Gods' country?

Good shots, James- too bad the background is a bit distracting, but you gotta take what they give ya.

I have to go through the medical evaluation board again back in the states. The Army found that the heart stress test I had last year that allowed me to come back in was done incorrectly. I had two tests recently and my ticker didn't pass them. So, its looking like around Feb. that I will be coming back. Permanent retirement this time instead of temporary.

Like the others said, you have to work with what you have most of the time. I like No. 2 a little better. Good work.
