I just picked up a very inexpensive sigma 28-90 3.5-5.6 macro and just had to give this thing a try.
I wanted to keep things inexpensive as I don't know really how much close up work I want to do, but for an inexpensive lens I'm kinda happy with the first results.

Thanks James, I'm quite pleased with the first results but the image did have some help in LR 3. So far the only thing I don't like about the lens is in manual focus the damn focus creeps when the lens is pointed downward, but I figure a wide rubber band will take care of that.
I have to admit the tutone shot in full size makes for one crazy wallpaper.

I agree, very nice first attempt (or I should say success). Looking forward to seeing some more of your work!

These are very nice! You don't need a "macro" lens to do closeup work. Almost any lens will work. I use a 75-300 with a 25mm tube to shoot closeups of shy critters in nature and very satisfied with the results.

I like the colors you captured, Of the two images, the second image is the one I like best. Sharp, several larger water drops that show a sharp image of the flower, and the background is well blurred. Nicely done.

Thanks for all the comments. I had a lot of fun setting this up and already have ideas for some variations on the setup and things to shoot.
