Not very much, but I have shot some. Its not real easy to get them looking like I want.

If you do, please post some and tell my how you did it.

I have a light box that I made that helps a lot.

Well,

I did try it with horrible results. It was your light box that made me post because it would be perfect. I have talked to people that do this and they say the best way is numerous light sources to show off the minerals. After seeing you light box it made me wonder that I can add led tube lights around the box so that it adds directional lighting and the regular desk lamps will fill in the rest.

When I want some shadows to add detail or a little more light here or there I use the little cheap lights I got. The are very versatile in the way you can use them.

this is about all i've done. it's a geode bookend.






these were shot a few years back with the onboard flash from a ricoh 4300, 1.3meg cam.
