Those old MF lenses are godawful nice, aren't they? Nice shot, I like it, David.

I used one of those lenses way back in 1977 at work and loved it for what I was shooting.

Nice macro shot. Love the shallow DOF.

I have a 135mm f/2.0 AiS Nikkor that is really fantastic. It's not quite 40 years old having been made somewhere in the early 80's. Although not a macro shot, here's an interesting subject shot with that lens on the Nikon D3...

A pair of pretty portrait primes!

I too bought some old primes. Images as good or better than L glass, and i grew up shooting manual anyway.

I really can't believe how good it still works. It has some dust on it and there is one part of the focus with a slight catch, but other than that it's very smooth. The aperture ring is so smooth I can adjust it with one finger. It is the 50mm f/2.0. Not only is it fast but it also has a 1:2 maximum reproduction which is enough to consider it a macro lens. With a 25mm extention ring it becomes a 1:1 ratio. It's so useful I decided to put it in my camera bag.
