While shooting the grand vistas of Yosemite and Death Valley, King's Canyon and Sequoia NP, I stumbled across this old log that had very interesting patterns. All shot with my trusty old 105/4 MF.

The third one has a lot of potential, I think it does need a bit more contrast so I just did a small curves adjustment, a little smart sharpen and got this:
