Started at the train station and walked up to the big windmill with my new 105mm.. was going for texture / funky shots (with a little fun post processing thrown in).

What a fun walk down main street. I like the yellow and white stripe. How many people looked at you strangely, like what is he taking pictures of?!!! I had a lady one time step where I had been and take the same shot. As she stepped back on the sidewalk with her husband, he asked what she took the picture of and she said she didn't know but it must be good if that photographer was taking the picture! There was no way she shot the same thing I was.

Nice! That lens is on my 'wish list'. What's the 'real world' subject/camera focusing distance with the 105 (ex. images 5 & 6)?

Yeah, shooting macro tends to get you some weird looks I've discovered. If you're not shooting something obvious, like a flower or something people tend stop and wonder if you've been in the sun too long... ;-)

I don't think I was any more that 6-8 inches away if that helps..

To give you an idea, #10 is the corrugated signpost of a stopsign pole.. I was probably less than 6 inches away on that one...
