The last two shots have a dreamy / surreal feel to them. I like the lighting on the first one. All of them have a nice soft look.

Very calming. You might consider these for stock photo agency.

Thanks, John! All of these were shot on my porch using natural light only.

EDIT - Thanks, Tom! I'm not ready to sell anything yet, but that's very encouraging.

The selective focus is excellent on these and the light is very satisfying. Very nice work Christian!

Christian, Those are beautiful! How did you get those gorgeous blue & purple colors in your background?

Thanks, Wil.

Deanna, I shot these on my porch at midday (all light was indirect at that time) with the camera set to auto white balance. In the RAW conversion (Canon's DPP) I changed the white balance (the aqua colord one I definitely set to tungsten - the one above it may be tungsten or may be flourescent. I possibly then modified the white balance manually to get the colors I wanted. I also upped the saturation.

I've never seen these blooms before. They are so gorgeous and you've captured them so well. I just love them all, but especially the last two. The colors are very pretty. Nice job.

I'd much rather be out shooting photos than sitting here at this computer...

Thanks, Karen. I was really excited when my aloe decided to bloom. Very few of my succulent plants bloom, as they all prefer more sun than I can give them on my porch. This aloe is not Aloe vera (aka Aloe babadiensis), but is another species of Aloe (I am not sure which, there are over 300 different Aloes out there).
