Valentine flowers - 02-15-2009, 09:01 AM

I haven't taken the macro lens out of the bag in a few months, so I thought I would get a few shots of my wife's Valentine flowers. I took these outside in the morning sun.

Canon 30D, Sigma 105 f2.8, tripod, remote shutter. As always, all c&c welcome.

Nicely done, Dan. Take advantage of the opportunity - this way your wife also gets the images to extend the usable life of the flowers. The lighting on the third image is great. You might want to see how cropping a bit from the right side on the first and third image changes the composition.

Thanks John & James,

We have a digital photo frame on a table in the corner of our living room that I display some of my photos on. My wife has already said that she wants these shots added to it.

Lovely set, Dan. I love the composition of the first frame.

Thanks Kenny,

I took a few more shots of these same flowers this evening, this time using a homemade ringflash. Here are a couple that I thought turned out fairly good.
