FS: Astra Commercial Espresso Price Dropped - 12-01-2009, 01:18 PM

I have a two group manual Astra Espresso machine I would like to sell. Its a 2 group with a steam wand and hot water. Good for about 40-50 cups an hour with out any problems. 220 and water source required. I also have a grinder I will throw in.
$800.00
Open to trade for a gripped 40D + a little cash, or a 5D and I will add a cpl hundred bucks.

Full manual, but it does have gauges :)
I bought it over a year ago, and loaned it to the ex wife to add to her shaved ice business. Had it totally reworked prior to loaningit to her. I think my kids maybe made 50 cups with it, but she never put it to use, said she didnt have the time. Go figure :)
Let me know if you wnat any more info or photos of it.

Seperate grinder. Here is it, http://www.michaelo.com/documents/SM-95GRINDER.pdf
Sorry its the expanded parts view.
Also, the Astra has its own pump,so you can actually run it off a 5 gal bottled water container if you wanted to. If memory serves me it takes about 12-15 minutes to heat up to operating temp when you first turn it on.
I volunteered in the coffee shop at church for a year, and I was even thinking of opening a shop at some point and thought this would be a good set up to begin with.
At church we had a $10K 3 group semi auto and there were several times I put out 120 cups in an hour. But unless your a Starbucks on in an enviroment like we had at the church, 3,000 per service, that type machine is a little to much.

The best is a Snow Wizard or a Souther Snow block shaver. The disadvantage to them is the avaliability of block Ice. MEmory serves you can get about 25 med <12 oz> to a block. If you dont have a place to get ice, then the Hatsuski (SP) cubed shaver is the way to go. The Hat doesnt do as good a job as far as shaving is concerned, but is not bad. Raggs Supply in Keller is the place to order your syrups. Raggs Supply
Braft has the best rootbeer and bananna and snow wizard for most of the rest of your flavors.
PM me for everything you dont want to know about shaved ice. :)

Cost to make a Venti Latte without the cost of a cup is about .65 so yeah, you could save a LOT of money.
You know you want it Donna.
