I do believe you're commiting a Federal felony by not declaring what you're shipping. If I understand correctly, only an FFl can ship a pistol via USPS and must present the forms upon shipping.
The gun still has to go through an FFL if it's moving across state lines. Transfer within a state has to comply with state law as well as the federal requirement that the recipient complete an affidavit of eligibility which the sender must have in his possession prior to shipping. |
1. I had no idea it was illegal.
2. an FFL dealer told me it was ok to ship that way, as long as the gun was disassembled.
3. I still have never had any problems with it.
