Photo related? Maybe this belongs in the general market place area?

Software? Fitness? Just hit the streets.

IMHO, start with P90x.
It's crazy... but MUCH easier than Insanity. IMHO, you will be better off with the strength conditioning of P90x. Insanity is all cardio, and if you are not used to extremely intense amounts of cardio, you won't be able to keep up. I tried it after doing P90x and it was "insane". I told myself there is no way I'm doing this because I will just lose all the muscle I gained from P90x. No one needs to be doing that much cardio. People spend way too much time doing cardio as it is, and don't realize they are like hamsters on a wheel and will never get closer to their goals without a major change in diet. The strength conditioning of P90x will offer you more benefits for overall heart, bone and muscle health.

Sorry to muck up your WTB thread, but the wrong program can be down right dangerous. Most people need to be careful with P90x as well. Make sure you do the included trial dvd first to make sure you can even attempt the rest. Exercise is awesome, just be careful.

And for $14, get this book on Amazon. Well worth the read.
Amazon.com: Why We Get Fat: And What to Do About It (Borzoi Books) (9780307272706): Gary Taubes: Books
Changing the way you eat is the only thing that will get rid of the flab for good. Doing a bunch of exercise will just make you hungrier and you'll eat more. And if you don't eat more, your body will slow down it's metabolism. So either way you are screwed unless you make a change and discover why your body is holding on to that fat.

Good luck!

If you are totally new and obese, I would reccomend you start with Power 90. It's not P90X, it's the series before P90X. Word of warning though, the workouts are repetitive, and Tony gets annoying VERY quickly, but if you stick with it, you can loose weight, and you will be better prepared when you make the move over to P90X.

I'm not totally new nor obese...

I eat very good, but unless you exercise, you will never get rid of flab....and thus I prove my point from not exercising very much the last year. I have never had any fat on my stomach...I can now pinch...yuck!!! not attractive at all.

Or so it's been drilled into our heads and we believe it.
But I'm actually proving the opposite right now. I go for a mountain bike ride for fun a couple days a week, but otherwise sit behind a desk all day. No more p90x for me. I'm eating all kinds of yummy fatty stuff and the lbs are falling off. Get that book I mentioned above. Calories in/Calories out is B.S. And eating fat doesn't make you fat if you know what NOT to eat. It's easy and the lbs are falling off.
Exercise is awesome for overall health, but not for getting rid of flab long term.
No need to kill yourself with exercise. Exercise for fun instead.

I love Insanity!! It did wonders for me. I had to quit b/c I got sick, and I was hoping to start up again, but I have such a bad arm right now, I can't do it. I was not in great shape when I did Insanity, but even if you do as much as you can, you will still see results. Sorry, don't want to sell mine just yet, but it is worth buying, imo. I have my results on my FB personal page: Login | Facebook
