FS: Custom made 4x5 pinhole camera - $20 - 04-14-2011, 03:14 PM

First $20 bill at my door gets one of my custom made solid wood pinhole cameras designed to take 4x5 film backs (film back not included, but they are cheap and plentiful on ebay). I made several pinhole cameras during my college years and this was one of my finest. It shoots great and I made it easy to open and change out the pinhole plate if you want a softer or sharper look.

If you want to get into pinhole camera work and are tired of the stuff you are getting with your pinhole lenscap conversion for your 35mm digital, this 4x5" film camera will be a giant leap forward! You will LOVE it!!! Contact me at janikphoto (at) yahoo.com if you want it.

Unless a local wants to come pick this up, it sounds like I'll be shipping it out...

I'll buy it for my classroom! Very neat!

My 1st year students start with oatmeal pinhole cameras.

http://staff.beaumont.k12.tx.us/gloker/pinhole.htm

And 2nd year student usually do a greater in-depth study of the process. This will be a great addition for them.

Let me know where to send some money. PP gift? Shipping for UPS to business address?

Thanks!

Sorry, but I already have a buyer to ship to. I was just waiting through the weekend to see if a local pick up would appear. If not, he gets first dibs...

Bummer. Do you have the plans on how to make a design to accommodate a 4x5 film holder? We have a 4x5 camera and I though this was really neat to be able to send a student out with the holders we have with a pinhole camera instead of the huge 4x5 camera.

I made it ten or eleven years ago... so, not really. Sorry.

If the back end of the 4x5 is a Graflex/Graflock (aka Grafloc, Graflok), you may be able to remove it and attach it to the pinhole box. You can usually find lone-graflock backs on the e-bay

Then again...

Yeah, it wouldn't be too hard to make one using a graflex back.

This is a really good idea, and I have a couple of cameras with backs that might be able to be salvaged. They have just been used as a classroom example during history week, but this will be much better.

Thanks!
