1997 Chevy z71 new engine and other newness - 08-17-2011, 08:21 AM

Item is: FS:
Model: 1500 z71
Price: 5500 or trades
Location: Houston
State: TX

Hey guys, I figured it would be worth a shot posting my truck for sale here... Its also on craigslist so I will just copy and paste the ad.

The truck has about 215k miles on it. I got the truck a couple years ago with a blown engine. I put a new engine in, new starter, new a/c compressor, new wheels from an 05 truck, tires are good, new belts hoses plugs, new gm steering wheel, new gm air bag (I still have the original as well) had the interior repainted since it was peeling, new mirror and lights. All GM parts. I has a radio from an 02 truck, so its a cd player in one unit with the cubby hole underneath where the CD player was. I have some spare parts for the truck as well. Shortly after all this, I got a divorce and the truck just collects dust in front of the house. Feel free to contact me with any more questions, etc.

I am asking 5500 for the truck. I may be open to trades for pre-1960's vehicles, or canon glass.

If I had to make a list of what I'm interested in...
50 1.4
35 1.4
70-200 2.8
24-70 2.8

Etc.

Could even consider another body, or flashes.

When you say "new engine", do you mean a rebuilt engine?

Long block, short block?

Who rebuilt it.

Is it a 350?

When I got the truck, the engine was in a crate in the bed. 350 long block.

Sadly that's all I know about it. Previous owner thought the original engine was toast. Bought a new one and opted to not deal with it.

I hear that all the time! Another guy recently picked up a great chevy extended cab, because the guy started to do a crate motor, but gave up. The truck was dirt cheap and in great condition. All the new owner had to do was install the engine... People give up too easily, I guess.

One of the most common issues with these era full-size chevy trucks, right behind the head gasket issues they all have...

Yep! Done my fair share of those things.

Truck purrs like a kitten now.

Does need shocks, tail pipes, and something sticks in the ignition that makes it like owning a car that the fonz would drive. I'm the only one that can start it.

I will teach the owner how, free if charge.
