Why are you selling? Upgrading? I have been shopping for a better kayak than what I have. I have looked over all the ones at REI very closely, just can't remember which I had decided on. Would you get this one again? How is the compartment right in front of you for a camera?

I have not been using my kayaks and am looking to get some new toys I will use. I'd rather sell them to someone who will use them instead of having them sit. If in the future I decide to get another one, this will be the firt on my list for any type of surf or wave conditions. It is quick, stout and is an all around great yak. The other one Im selling is better for calmer waters and/or weekend trips. the front compartment is plenty big for whatever you would want to put in there and stays dry.

Actually, I already have a flat kayak this great for the beach, but I don't like beach kayaking, and this that I want is just for photographing from rivers and bayous. The Internet makes it sound like this one is good for rivers, with little drag, but you make it sound like it is more for beach action. Do you have another that I should be that is better for rivers?

You are correct on the fact that it does not have much drag at all.
The other one I am selling i like better for rivers and lakes because it is more stable and has reverse capabilities so it is more manueverable. also better for camping and weekend trips in my opinion since there is a lot more storage area (due to the canoe design). it does hold water though, which is why i have the hand pump for it. HERE is the other yak

Wow! That other one is definitely THE RIG! Not sure I am up for overnight trips. Well, I would be, just lacking a partner to go with me.
But, I am still interested in the MR13.
Do you think it will do nicely in rivers, like tooling around in the swamping sides of the Neches and Bayous? Do the fins underneath tuck under in low areas?
This is the one I have right now. Gander Mountain® > Malibu Kayaks Mini-X Kayak - Fishing > Fishing Boats > Angling Kayaks :
The storage compartment in front of the seat was great for tucking a body with a 50-500 on it, and it really worked well, except it wasn't comfortable (bad back) and it was SLOW. Pretty much came to a stop immediately after a stroke. On the positive side, it was great at the beach.

The other yak I have for sale works the same way, but it pivots out and is easier to put back down.
Just FYI, looks like the Hobie is probably sold as of now, just haven't marked it that way since it is still in my house.
