I was privileged enough to spend 7 days on the road with my favorite band Blue October while they were touring the east coast on their acoustic tour. I had an absolute blast and I got to visit cities I hadn’t been to before which was an extra bonus. I had never been to Boston before so having the venue located right across the street from Fenway Park was awesome.
This is what I called home for 7 days… a 45ft long Prevost Tour Bus. Can’t beat that!

We got the VIP treatment and were taken up onto the roof of the House of Blues in order to get a good birds eye view of Fenway. Wicked Awesome. =) Talk about nerve racking a bit, fellow photogs know how it is to shoot with a fisheye and how you can really misjudge how close you are to things or in this case the EDGE of the building which led to a 40ft drop. Yea I was very careful in getting this shot.

While the guys were relaxing and loading in I went for a walk around the park just taking it all in. Man… there is so much history here is was just cool to be able to see this ballpark in person. I do regret not having enough time to take a ball park tour but we were only in Boston for about 12 hours before moving on the the next stop on the tour. Maybe next time I’m in town I’ll have enough time to take in a game. In fact I did get to make it to the Bleacher Bar for a few drinks after the show which is actually within the ballpark building itself and you can look out onto the field which was way cool.

Funny thing is I got some weird looks as I stopped in the middle of the street to take this photo. I liked how it came out. lol oh well. I’m used to it.

Of course I had to get a cheesy self portrait while in front of Fenway. I mean doesn’t everyone do that? I didn’t dare try to get as close to the edge as I did in the earlier photo in order to get my picture. I’m not that crazy!

I had so much fun on this trip that its definitely one for the record books in my mind. I hope I get an opportunity to do this again in the future.
