- I am not being modest when I say that to label myself as an amateur photographer is to insult a lot of hard working people.
My special interest is to shoot whatever is available to me within a day's drive of Beaumont, Texas.
To the East of me is Louisiana with its swamps and moss-covered trees.
To the West is a great expanse of farmland with old barns and silos.
To the North is the piney woods of Southeast Texas.
To the South is the Gulf of Mexico which supports amazing scenery opportunities and lots of sea birds.
I am within a day of Lake Charles, Houston, Galveston, Sabine Pass and Jasper.
I shoot flowers and bugs and flowers with bugs on them. - Favorite Aspect of Photography
- I really enjoy the "wow" factor of photography. It may be an unusual bug, flower, or sunset or a neat setting or combination of light and form.
I walk with the Artist and He points things out to me and has assigned me the enjoyable task of reproducing, in picture form, the essence of what makes me say "wow."
When I an successful in capturing that special attribute, both the Artist and I grin from ear to ear. - Photo Gear
- I have my camera, replacement batteries, some lens wipes, pens and paper, wires to connect to a computer, extra memory sticks, and, a must: Toothpicks.
I chew nervously on toothpicks when I shoot.
