- I was born in Brasil and had the privilege of growing up in the US after moving at 9 years of age due to my dad's job transfer. I'm currently a student who fell in love with photography and it's intricate world of countless possibilities. From the moment I took my first photography class in the summer of 2007 I knew I wanted to make it my life, nothing less. Since then I've been exploring with black and white, color, digital, and most recently - medium format in film. I absolutely love black and white film photography. It's so classy and timeless, perfect for telling a story...which is what I often do...in addition to social commentary, which I started this semester spring of 2008 and absolutely love it for it gives purpose to my work. Through my pieces I strive to evoke thought in the viewer over aspects over our society/world that people gloss over in the rush of life. They are also my own meditations at the same time as a way of understanding and thinking deeper about these aspects. Maybe my sequences will ignite change. Maybe they won't. - I love black and white film photography simply because there is nothing more magical than watching a picture slowly come to life right before my eyes... Film also takes me back to the artistic vs. commercial side of photography <3
