I have seen that you swear by the Drobo for storage. I too am interested, but have a few question about this system I hope you would be willing to help me with. I do a lot of sports photography, as I believe you do, thus have a very well organized system of folders by year, sport, school, etc. I currently upload to my main computer HD and simultaneoulsy back up to an extenal drive via Photo Mecahnic. I have external drives by year with folders of each sport, shool, game, etc.

When you search for files on the drive that the Drobo is attached, can you pull them up by folders. I hear that Drobo codes the files so only a Drobo can access them. This concerns me if everything is backed up this way and Drobo goes out of business. Will I be able to read my files if this happens? Any and all insight you can give me is greatly appreciated.
