About Me
Life of Eye
Lying in the mud in the middle of nowhere, covered in dirt and grime and being pestered the relentless assault of mosquitoes, the sweet smell of wildflowers surrounds me as I wait for the setting sun to be in the perfect position. As the sun gets close I open my eyes and look through the viewfinder, I compose the shot, making sure all the elements are exactly where they should be. There, the sun is in place: I release the shutter and capture a moment in time.
By being a photographer, I have gone through many obstacles to learn new things or to get a shot someone else may have missed. I go the extra mile or extra ten miles to find something else, something that sets my image and myself apart from the rest. Yes, I have been uninterested and have let myself down by seeing something that could be a powerful image but then just saying I will come back later only to find it is gone. After this happening several times, I made a goal to not procrastinate or be uninterested with photography. As time went on this goal carried over to my schoolwork and my grades improved dramatically. Photography has been a huge influence in my life and I love doing it. The hardships and challenges that come with it make it tough, but when you prevail over those hardships, it’s a great feeling. Even then, when someone sees your images and complements you on them, it’s one of the best feelings ever.
My eyes are my life, it allows me to create and capture a fraction of a second on film. Without my eyes, I would be a creative soul with nothing to create. Remember that moment in time? It’s hanging on my wall for the world to see.
