Here's an old seed drill about three miles north of the Polebridge ranger station near the original Walsh homestead and what was once the Kintla Post Office. The Red Bench fire of 1988 swept through and took out the building that housed the Kintla PO, but this drill survived.
Anyone who has driven the North Fork road between Columbia Falls and Polebridge knows what this photograph is saying. If you've driven the road and you DON'T understand the meaning, consider yourself lucky!
I was driving down the road and saw this shock absorber. Realizing what it was after I passed it, I stopped, backed up, and took the shot. Then I threw the thing in the back of the pickup so someone didn't run over it and ruin a tire.
