This odd feller was running down a road in front of me. When he got on the easement, I stopped the suv on the other side of the road. Had just enough time to grab the camera from the other seat and shoot one pic before he ducked into the high grass under a fence. No time for composition or making the best of bad light (almost noon).



I've seen melanistic squirrels several times, but never when I had a camera.

I know a place with three melanistic white-tailed deer. The one I saw was jet black. I'd tell ya where, but then I'd have to kill ya.
