I was bummed that I had a project that I had to get to first thing this morning, otherwise I would have loved to have gotten some "action" and photos to show more scale.
Oh well, this turtle was one of the largest ones I've seen in my area. If I was dumb enough to get close, I would guess the mouth could easily engulf my closed fist. I'll bet this is an old dude. There were many critters hitchhiking along with the slug on the shell. Not sure what kind of turtle this is, but certainly didn't want to get too close to disturb it.
