Outstanding series Duc! I prefer to shoot on overcast days or in very low light... I always like the results. Very nice job!!

OMG you are the Bokeh Master! This is an excellent series, and I love the bokeh, particularly #2 where you can tell there is a reasonbly busy background, but you have effectively neutralized it with bokeh. Besides that, the dew-licking lizard is soooo cute!
BTW, what lens/camera/settings were these taken with? No Exif data is in the photos.

Fine series Duc and a good reason to shoot up close on a rainy or overcast day. Those colors do pop! Looks like you just barely missed focus on only one shot...lizard on the horizontal branch (4th shot from last).

Thanks all for viewing and commenting!
Anthony & Saravanan, I used a 5D + 70-200mm (2.8 non IS) + 1.4 Ex + 36mm Extension tube (Kenko). However, this is not my intention when I left home.
Actually, last Sat I had some hours between a drop-off and pick-up at George Bush Airport. I didn't want to go home between the 2 tasks, so I decided to spend some time at the Mercer Garden. I took only one lens, the 70-200mm + the 1.4X + the Kenko extension set looking forward to taking some flowers (if any) shots. I was surprised to see quite a few nice models there that day. Also, it was a rainy & overcast day, and hence there were not many people walking around to scare my models. I was more surprised to see a hummer, and so excited to take my first hummer shots in the wild.
I posted the pics here,
"http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108345"
I started shooting with the 70-200mm only, but with a full frame body 200mm from 1.5m (min focus distance) the subject was still too small. I added the 1.4X, but still not much better, then the 36mm extension was added.

I love the little green geckos especially the one where he's doing the big stretch. Any decent shot of the Black Swallowtail is good because they are hardly ever still. Great series.

I like the anole stretching across the gap the best, but they are all great. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
