Unidentified Duck

These are terrible images but hopefully they are good enough to make an id. The closest match I can find in my books is a Bufflehead but it still doesn't look quite right. Any ideas what kind of duck this is? I found him on a small golf course pond about 1/4 mile from the house.

Really nice find Dan. Yes, this is an adult male Bufflehead. Haven't seen many of these guys.

Thanks for confirming the id Mike. This is the first one I have ever seen of these. From what I was just reading about their range, he should be down in your area or even farther south by now, not hanging around a golf course up here.

I saw some of these at Hagerman last Monday but couldn't get a good shot of them because of the light.
