Have spent a lot of time paddling on Armand Bayou and my camera is always riding shotgun. I enjoy hunting the animals and letting them all survive the encounter. It's always a challenge positioning the canoe for a good shot especially when the wind is blowing. Hope you enjoy the shots. I have also opened up a gallery on the TPF site called WanaM3

All very nice shots! It was hard to pick a favorite, but I kept going back to look at the first one, the GB Heron and the action in the Egret shot! Love the gator with the eye bling. See, I told you it was hard to pick a favorite.

Jerome,

Yep, some fine shots, there! I was wondering what was on the gators eye, myself! Also, you might consider either cropping just a touch or cloning out that bit of branch on the right side of the shot of osprey and heron together. Otherwise, a fine shot, indeed!

I took out one of my brother's kayaks a while back and really enjoyed it! I know have a Folbot folding kayak that needs a new skin on it. The kayak was free, I just have to find a skin to use on it! It's a 17 foot single-seat model, from what I can tell. I hope to be able to get it in the water sometime this summer, though.

Thanks for sharing!
Sam

I've seen that dead tree out there before that you got pictures of. That is where I shot my very first osprey. I like your work. Do you use Topaz Detail? I have that too!

Thanks to everyone. - 01-30-2010, 03:45 PM

I must admit that the first shot just happened. I rounded the bend on the bayou and the light was just perfect. It's my favorite shot. That tree on Armand seems to always be occupied by an osprey and they are pretty good about hanging around for a photo opp.

I've not spent a lot of money on photo editing software. I mainly use Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. I just ordered the X2, but it's not much different from the older version. I'll have to check out the Topaz Detail and see what it's about. I might also add that eagle shot in the avatar always catches my eye.

I'll also take Samuel's advice and doctor that photo. Work on getting that boat floating. Mine offers me the opportunity to get shot and to go places that most people do not see. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and the opportunity to get back out on the water.

Thanks again.

Jerome,

If you have a Mac, you can download a trial of Aperture, which works pretty well. You can also download a trial of Lightroom for Mac or Windows, either one. I've got 2.0, but 3.0 will be coming out pretty soon, probably, as it's in Beta release now. You can download it, as well, if you want. But, I'd wait on that, personally. Beta software CAN be a bit wonky.
