    I knew about the maroon ones but these are well established bluebonnets & wildflowers that have been here in town for well over 30+ years. I have never seen one!

    They have been blooming down here since the first part of February (I posted a pic the 2nd) it must be all the darn rain we have been getting.

    Thank you Ron and Patti. There was a service going on at the cemetery so I was trying to be discrete. After the weather gets better I will be back out there to get some more shots.

    few years back there was a couple of houses in Texas City at 18th and Loop 197 that had white and maroon ones...never saw a pink one...very cool...

    It's a genetic variation that occurs spontaneously naturally, as does white and other colors. Some colors can be cultivated; others are variable traits that won't pass down.
