It looks like snow to me sprinkled with some trees......hehehe.......nice shot!!!

If you have Photoshop
open the image
select - image, adjustment, shadow and highlights
play with the sliders and see what you get.

re-sharpen
save as

Played with it a little last night...You were right; overall the pic looks better "lighter". Thanks for the feedback!

The great thing about digital is you can mess with it after the shot and a really good reason to shoot RAW all the time...I really like the scene!!

I'm not a scenic person, but I'd be tempted to crop just a bit of that tree from the right hand side to emphasize the path a bit more.
