Early Wildflowers - 03-01-2005, 08:25 PM

I was in the Brenham/Hempstead area on business this afternoon and had a little time, so I decided to check out the wildflowers. I drove through Chappel Hill to Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park. Not a lot, but there are signs that things are about to get real pretty.

There are a couple more on my web page.

Wonderful! I can't wait until they really start to bloom. I'm sure I'll be making several trips up to the Brenham area.

Welcome to the Forum, Lynda. I enjoyed your PBase site; you're really making that Nikon D70 put out some good shots.

You might want to use the "Introductions" part of the Forum to let others know you're on the scene.

An update.

As of March 11, flowers are really starting to show, but are a week or so from being great. Drove though the Llano-Inks Lake area today and it looks like it's just a matter of days.

Thanks For The Update - 03-11-2005, 06:38 PM

Tim,

I like the close up on #2 the best. Last Spring, I found that it was much easier to focus in on a few wildflowers to get a good crisp shot that I liked than it was to try to take in a whole countryside of thousands of flowers.

Probably a lens and/or perspective issue, but I still found those "big field" shots of wildflowers just never looked as good on the screen as they did to my eyes; the close-ups on the other hand, were just the reverse.

Happy shooting this Spring.

With all those bluebonnet leaves popping up it sure looks like a banner year in the Brenham area...and I'll be THERE! Give it another couple weeks for the peak :)

Hi, Bruce.

You are right about the perspective thing. Actually, all my photos are considerably sharper prior to uploading to pbase. It seems that all photos that I post there loose some sharpness.
