Brazos Bend SP from Wednesday - 05-07-2010, 12:37 PM

I need a little help with the juvi or white morph. I went to B&N and checked in all the books they have. The bird is apparently an immature little blue heron in what is referred to as in transition? I could not find it in my Sibley's guide. Can anyone verify my findings? The rest are a Tri-colored heron and an Anhinga.

All shot Wednesday morning around 40 Acre Lake. Things are picking up out there.

Thanks Ron and Fred. It was just out there catching some sun. Looks like the legendary Phoenix doesn't it.

Sandy, I've been busy taking maternity and baby photos with my daughter-in-law and son and now grandson. I was starting to go into withdrawal from the lack of nature shots, but I had to set my priorities.

Thanks Therese. They are pretty birds when they display their wings like that.

Very nice series, Doug. The details in the feathers of the Anhingas are really standouts.

Patrick, John, Tim and Jimmy. Thanks for all the comments. Tim, it felt good getting out again. I got so excited about getting out I forgot to get the code for the gate. I ended up shooting sunrise at the gate. I never could get the Anhinga to clear the tree with that right wing tip.
