Cool Stuff From The Bend-Hummers are Back! - 05-08-2010, 07:32 PM

Every time I go there's something different to see! Yes, I do like Yellow Crown Night Herons! If you want to see the hummers they are located at 40 Acre Lake. Just look for the purple flowers! One fellow came around every few minutes! All taken with the Nikon 300mm AF-S F4 lens!

Great captures Sandy! The hummingbird turned out great and you got some terrific feeding shots.

Great work Sandy. Love the first yellow crowned pose & the second hummer shot. All have excellent color & detail. Well done.

It is absolutely loaded with blooms Sandy with more opening almost daily. I've been busy with family lately and it seems whenever I have time to shoot the wind starts howling. This moring for example, the wind was pretty calm when I went out into a nearby field to shoot, but by the time I got back home it was probably 20mph.

Maybe you can get a few in tomorrow morning. The wind should slow down by then. It might be the last cool front we have this year! But then again the weather is crazy.

Thanks, Billy. Your work is always enjoyable to look at also! No kitty cats today. I did go down there and look for a bit.

Do you think they are over sharpened? I'm trying to pay attention to that.

I thought I might see you out there today. Did you go to the flats? The Beach was really pumping up some wind and waves. I drove down to Galveston/Quintana Beach to see what it was like. I think the birds were hiding from the tourists!

Beautiful shots Sandy. I think they are all well composed, well timed, and well processed.

Appreciate that very much. I wasn't sure how they were going to turn out. The sun didn't come out too much. It was overcast with a white sky.
Glad you like them!
