Billy, I was about 25 to 30 feet away. Between the crop sensor on the 7D and the 300 w/ the 1.4TC, I had quite a bit of reach - plus the 7D files allow a far amount of cropping in post.

These are all fantastic...Love the hummer's! Any day I can get out to BBSP is an excellent day... I missed going last week, but I'll be out there in the morning stompin' around looking to find something to shoot!
