Another good day at the bend - added shot - 05-08-2010, 08:08 PM

Besides watching the little blue herons going at it, there was quite a bit of action to be found this morning at the bend...

Spoonbill gathering nesting materials

From the looks of him, this guy has been eating a lot of crawfish...

Excellent shots Patrick. Exif didn't list the focal length, what are you shooting with?

Patrick, all four are great shots but I agree with Therese - the second shot is a real winner.

Nice series of shots Patrick. Great job keeping focus on all of them, but that crawdad shot takes the cake.

These are fantastic. It sure was a lot of fun there for a while. Glad you got that spoon.
Like we talked about they don't come down and land very often.
I want to go back just to get more hummer shots. Your hummer shots look great!

Thanks all!

Sandy, I'm glad you spotted the spoon at the other end of the lake. By the time I got down there, he had jumped behind the reeds and I had to wait him out.

Ron, it was great meeting you too. Did you get some shots to post from Friday?

Love the yellow crowned night heron gulping the crawdad! And the spoonie in flight with branches in its beak is very nice!
