I'm getting geared up to go back so I decided to look through my YSNP shots and I had barely touched them... weird... I don't think that there are any reposts based on what was processed. Sorry if there are

Some of the bubbly, steamy shots from last year (that sounds like a different kind of fun).

Do the steam pockets put out an aroma? Does it smell like sulfur? One of those weird questions I know. Thanks for sharing your trip.

It's the coolest thing Sandy. It smells like sulphur. It hisses and gurgles. Some places kind of rumble. It's probably the coolest place I've been to date.

If I can get away a little sooner I will but right now I have 6/1 - 6/14 blocked out. I would love to get there before 6/1. Bears and other wildlife are doing their thing right now. I am also planning a September trip.

We are leaving next Friday. June 1-3 we are in Grand Teton NP.

I saw that you joined YNet. Love the story of stepping in the hot mud!

I have some friends that live around and know YS and the Teton area really well. I'm hoping that they'll be able to hang out. I guess you know about the bear activity if you are on YNet. If I could... I would be gone now... but I've got to work some time...

When I first stepped in it the adrenalin was pumping... I just knew that I had roasted myself

I'll probably pass ya on the road, leaving this Sat and back to work on the 1st, sounds like the bear activity is really good right now. I'll probably put a damper on that !

The one that I shot was between Norris and Madison but that doesn't look right. This one was right on the bank of a little stream. The turnout was 20' or so above it and the bank going down to the stream was pretty steep. The gate was closed near a real pretty thermal area on the east side of the road but I can't remember the name of it. Ah! Found it... Artist Paint Pots. So it was between Norris and Artist Paint Pots on the west side of the road.

I'm kind of counting on baby elk and the feeding frenzy that they bring. Sad for the elk calves but that's life and death in the wild.
