Thanks Ronnie, I was using MKIII with 400 5.6 prime with 1.4 TC on and I shot them from my van, these are pretty much full frame as I was probably at minimum focus distance.

No question about Billy, you are tops at shooting the frogs. Really great stuff - great color and detail.

Great job on these Billy...They are hard for me to get down here...I have more success with bugs than I do frogs...except green tree frogs...

Thanks everyone, I found these frogs in water near the side of the road. I drove on the shoulder and looked down in the water. They did not jump cause they are not scared of vehicles. I hope some of you get the opportunity to get some frog pics.

Billy, Wonderful frog photos! They are all so sharp and clear and colorful and... well just wonderful. I'm with Dennis. All I get is the PLOP. I'll have to try the truck blind method.

Patti, you have a pond so you can try my other method, get a 10 million candlepower spotlight (ebay has them up tp 18 million) I hold it in my left hand and in my right hand, my Canon with 400mm lens with flash on top (430 flash) then I shine the frogs and take the pictures. Here's an example using a 30D 100-400 lens and 430ex flash. ( i use my 400 5.6 lens now, its lighter) Notice the 2 lights in the frogs eye, one is the spotlight and the other is the flash.

Oh, that's cool. I'll get Randy to hold the spotlight and I'll take the photos. There's no way I can hold my camera with a flash and my 400mm 5.6 lens in one hand and take photos with it. Not unless it's on a tripod or maybe monopod, but I can just see it hitting the mud.

Next weekend. A plan.
