Another nice set of bird images, Bruce. The noise (from the high ISO) in the background takes a little away from the image.

Love the details on the bird; especially catching dinner.

Was this taken on one of those Jackson Hole excursions I hear about on this forum?

Bruce,

Those are neat looking birds. The bug the first one is carrying is also pretty interesting looking. The blue on the male is nothing short of amazing. I wonder if a little more contrast on the male might help the photo. I do agree with John that the noise takes a little away from the photo. Very nice work all the same.

I agree about the noise, but nice shots and I love the blue on these birds!

Bruce,

Nice shots. I agree about the noise but that is easily remedied. What focal lengths were you shooting these at? 600mm? I would look at the EXIF information... but there doesn't seem to be any.

I spent about 30 seconds with the wand tool and gausian blur and this is what I came up with.

Good work on the noise. I have discovered Topaz Labs DeNoise and it is so good at removing noise without much detail loss. You did great with the wand tool on this one though.

Very nice shots Bruce. I wonder why are they less blue than the one I found? Maybe they are females?

Love the one eating lunch, super-catch, very nice!
