Learning the D90 @ Mercer Botanic Gardens - 07-30-2010, 08:05 AM

Recently switched to a Nikon D90 from Pentax. Not knocking Pentax at all but I am loving my results with the new camera. Here are a couple that I'm very pleased with from a recent trip to Mercer.

Since I'm a rookie on this forum I'm open to all criticism.

This one is a little dark.

Wayne,

I like these quite a bit, it looks like you are doing great with your D90! The colors are beautiful and they are nice and sharp and detailed. The compositions are interesting.

Very nice work Wayne. I really like the 2nd image and the wonderful bokeh of it.

Very nice images Wayne, looks like you don't need much "learning" with that D90.

Thank you, but I still have a lot of learning left. Don't want to stop learning because it will get boring.

Be sure to go all the settings for the camera taking test photos. I've shocked myself with finding settings that make the jpegs come right out of the camera better than I can edit the raw files. Soon I hope to purchase Capture NX 2 and see what else I can get from the raw files that LR2 and CS3 cannot. (Anyone suggesting, besides Adobe, that I should get LR3/CS5 please contact me about donations to my paypal.)
