Albino Deer - 08-01-2010, 04:40 PM

I DID NOT shoot this, but a friend of mine on the East Coast did. She gave me permission to repost this.

Have y'all ever seen an albino deer in the wild? I thought this was pretty amazing.

She said its actually an "L" word, not a true albino, since it has blue eyes instead of pink.

What kind? I'm kind of picky about cookies

I learned that word from shooting bird images. I have some Leucistic hawk images.

Never seen one in the wild, but did see another shot of one in another forum(which escapes my feeble mind right now). I bet they are hard to get the detail sharp in the middle of the day!

But she missed the shot right after these where natural selection took over.

I heard of these a couple of years ago when a friend sent me this link. The deer are near Boulder Junction in northern Wisconsin. Wisconsin Public Television

I have a picture of a true albino from a few years ago. Ok, here's a link to the one I remember getting in a email.

I took a picture of a colt a while back like this, I think the lady who owned the horse called it a fatal white. If they make it past 72 hours they live. Her's did not live and only lived from 7am til 10:30pm. I think this is an amazing find and I would have loved to get a shot like this. Thanks for sharing.
