Thanks Therese. It was. I was watching Pearland Dawson HS (nephew is head coach) scrimmage with Atascocita. The freshmen and JV teams looked good and the Varsity really did an excellent job considering they lost a lot of their starters. It will be a tough season for them with the changes to the districts, but I think they'll do okay.

David and John, You are quacking me up! I think they were black-bellied whistlers, but I couldn't really tell that far away.

Nice shot Patti.

I know exactly what you mean. I'll be shooting a tennis match, and I'll see a hawk flying overhead, and I'll aim my 400 2.8 at the hawk instead of the match.

Thanks Doug. The color in the sky didn't last long. Those birds went by at just the right time.

Good to know I'm not the only one, Jim. The critters just beg to be photographed.

Thanks Dennis. I did take a few shots of the players, but DH was on the sidelines shooting the game - that's his gig. I usually wander around shooting the people in the crowd, a helmet sitting in the grass, the kicker's shoes, stuff like that.

Jerome, Thanks. Both teams did well. There were some really nice, long passes caught, not too many mistakes for a scrimmage with a bunch of rookies. When they played a little 4 minutes quarters game at the end, Dawson won that 14 to 7. The play of the game in my estimation was a pass reception that a Dawson receiver made way over his head. He was in double coverage, jumped up, grabbed it with both hands and pulled it down. Got a standing ovation from the crowd.

I'd of been looking for something to shoot too if that's the lighting I had....LOL! I bet that makes for some interesting colors and settings. Good catch on the flyby Patti. I know some of it is the photographer but I think there's some hunter in there too that makes you watch the skies.

Thanks Roy! Nice to see you posting. Yeah, I must admit that at times I feel as if I have the wrong tool when I'm shooting photos of ducks. Where's that Citori when you need it?
