Which photo for art exhibit? - 09-13-2010, 06:56 PM

I'm entering a couple photos into an art exhibit and I keep debating back and forth on which photo I should use. Entries will be judged and will be available for sale, as well.

Which photo do you like best? Which one would be judged best? Which one is most likely to sell?

I think you will get more of a reaction on the first one. The second one the color seems off. The eye lids look pink so I'm thinking you shot these in Jpeg? I like the first one. Go with it! Hope you win.

I think both images are very good. The first one is particularly interesting and well executed. Having said that, I don’t see either as really being sellable. I think the second one might be better for sale but I think the composition should be a little different. The color is also a bit dull on the second one, it might help to punch up the contrast and saturation a bit.

Of course this is just my personal opinion and you got it for free… you get what you pay for ;)

I've been playing with the color on the second because I'm not quite happy with it, either. Thanks for the opinions :)

#2 is more suited for an "art" exhibit. #1 is a good wildlife shot, but will look out of place when viewed along side other "artsy" photos.

For an Art exhibit, I'd say the second one hands down for me. I would suggest trying a different crop, maybe going vertical with more room on the left side. Good luck.

I'd send the first to Texas Parks and wildlife, enter the second in the contest.
