Slow Motion Blast Off - 12-26-2010, 06:42 PM

Here is a shot from San Bernard NWR of geese lifting off at sunrise taken at 1/6 sec. They were very close to the road around the pond and took off right in front of me. Very cool to see and hear.

Your intentional blur really works for this photo: conveys an even greater sense of pattern and motion.

Tim, Awesome blur! The fact that you have a nice clear space above and below the birds is excellent and I love the pattern of the birds in the blur.

Thanks Y'all. The geese have been hanging out near the road around the pond on the east side and you can get very close to them in your car if you drive very slowly. They lift off every morning around sunrise.

Great job on this one Tim. One of your better blurs. There's so much to actually see in this one that I keep coming back to it.

Great shot, I like being able to make out a lot of the heads while the rest is blurred. Is this from the window or do you have to walk trails? Never been there but hope to soon.

Thanks David. Taken out the car window. It's a driving tour around the pond where these were. There is a walking trail in another location in the NWR.
