Fun Times At San Bernard - 01-02-2011, 10:40 PM

I've been wanting to get down to San Bernard after seeing Tim's post of the snow geese. I liked it so much I went twice this holiday weekend. I even found a bobcat leaving the refuge today. Not a very good shot. But more for documentation. If you look closely it is carrying something in it's mouth.

Met up with Shadow(Bruce) and his daughter and had a nice walk. Appreciate you bringing me that 1.4TC.

The last picture was taken on the way home.

Very nice, Sandy! You were right, the Grebe shot is a trip! How do they swallow those things? Fun time, for sure. Some Sandhills next time, perhaps?

Super pictures!!! I love the Grebe shots cause they are hard to get over here. They take off when they hear you get out of the vehicle or drive up. Excellent work as usual

Wonderful set...I really like the pied-billed grebe drying itself and the roseate spoonbills in flight.

If your planning a trip down there I don't think you'll be disappointed. The mosquitoes can be a problem but yesterday there was none so go while you can!

Sandy, You got an awesome variety! I think my most favorite is the spoonbills - that pink against the grasses is just beautiful. Or maybe it's the first one with all the wonderful colors in the sky and the tree in silhouette. Or, it could be the grebe shaking off the water - how cute! Or maybe that Cormorant or Kinglet or... Okay, I can't decide.

Patti

Terrific series Sandy! Looks like you had a blast down there. The spoonbills in flight (both shots) and fishing grebe are my favorites, although they are all really cool, especially that last one you posted this morning. I've got to figure out how you are able to track down those bobcats! And btw, that is one handsome dog!
