Although the bird shooting was very good around the deer camp, there was also ample opportunties to shoot some deer photos...only saw a few bucks and they were all out of camera range...here are a few that I like...hope you enjoy...comments always welcomed...

i once lived in northern cal. and the deer was just outside the condo . my pics came out ok. with a six dollar camera. your pics are so clear and up close. We have axis deer on four islands and black tail on one . i believe they were introduced to hawaii over a hundred years ago from india. What a tough and elusive creature to carry their homes on their backs . i was always impressed at the diversity of animals in texas in earlier visits. thanks and aloha

Great deer shots Ron! Those are some content animals, almost like you were shooting at a petting zoo! I really like the portrait shot - nice work on all.

Thanks Stephen for viewing and your comments...the ram is a Texas Dahl (Dall) sheep...these sheep are native to the Alaskan Yukon and northern Canada regions...they are raised by breeders and sold (~$2000 each dependent upon size of horns) to Exotic Ranches and hunting leases...much cheaper to hunt this way than paying for a hunting trip to the Yukon or Canadian territories...
